The couple Marta and Luis has a loving and harmonic relationship. Soon Luis lets Marta know that he is suffering from severe cancer. The couple travels to the Basque coastline for a short vacation and to be close to each other. But now their life slowly changes and gets substantially more demanding when Luis ends up in the hospital. Marta now has to confront a new situation of loneliness and concern. She needs to manage denial, grief, and anger. Luis on the other hand has to process his fear of death and the understanding that Marta will start a new life after his passing. The inevitable gets closer every day. The director Fernando Franco depicts this process in a delicate, realistic manner without any forced drama.
