Joachim is a troubled man who is beginning to be convinced he is a reincarnation of a soldier, Zoran, who died in Bosnia in 1983 on the same day Joachim was born. It’s an idea he dreams about and sees connections to wherever he looks. His friend Alice, who is a filmmaker, is very sceptic but still sees an interesting story to follow. Soon they gather a small lm crew and head to a small village in Bosnia to follow the tracks of Zoran… In Heroes Don’t Die director Aude Léa Rapin has made an unusual meta-documentary that explores trauma, empathy and the complex marks left by conflict.
