In 1966, Věra Chytilovás released her second film. It was forbidden in Czechoslovakia and also from being exported. Daisies (Tusenskönorna) is an experimental film and part of the Czechoslovak new wave that emerged in the 1960s. The film is about two young girls who both are named Marie. They conclude that everything is being spoiled in this world and that they might as well promote chaos around them. Filled with humor, seriousness and a lot of cinematic experimentation, this feminist film classic is a true masterpiece. Daisies is a bizarre, colorful, chaotic and very amusing film.
