Video installation by Sophie Vuković
Presented at Vita Kuben 26 november – 1 december
Language: No dialogue Subtitles: No subtitles
UEFF has in collaboration with Vita Kuben invited Sophie Vuković, a filmmaker and artist. Sophies practice is between the documentary and the fictional and she has previously investigated the construction of identity, intimacy and migration. Her feature film debut Shapeshifters (2017) explores migration and belonging beyond national borders in a hybrid documentary form. Mother’s Milk (2019) is her thesis from the Royal Art Academy and was awarded Bonniers Scholarship. The installation is a poetic formulation of a mother-daughter relationship, where everyday considerations are interwoven with gestures that are both tender and violent to create a touching and thoughtful study of ideas about care.
