In the housing projects Cité Gagarine on the outskirts of Paris lives Yuri, a young boy who dreams of becoming an astronaut. In the courtyard and among the hundreds of apartments neighbors, families and friends get together in a blended community. When the residents learn that the whole complex is going to be demolished a resistance is awakened, and Yuri begins to encapsulate himself in the home that soon will be destroyed. The French director duo Fanny Liatard and Jérémy Trouilh sensitively portray astronaut dreams and urban transformation in their acclaimed drama about a residential area that has been leveled to the ground. The film is inspired by the real fight against the demolition, and manages in an inventive way to mix down-to-earth social realism with a layer of dreamy science fiction.
