Sawo Matang

A story about Nala, a Pribumi girl studying in Jakarta who has fallen in love with Kai, an Indonesian-Chinese boy. Kai confides in Nala about his financial situation. He does not come at all from a well-to-do home as he has led everyone to believe. Feeling great sympathy for him, Nala agrees to perform the forbidden ritual Babi Ngepet – a ritual that makes someone rich. But in order for it to become rich, something must be sacrificed.
