During the early 20th century, the farmer’s wife Mia struggles to raise her wild foster daughter, but both the village, the church and her own family oppose her. If Mia fails to confirm the girl, she will be sent away.

Inga Kempe was awarded the screenplay prize After Bergman 2021 to continue writing her first feature film project, an adaptation of Sara Lidman’s novel Lifsens rot.
