In a dystopian world where people have inexplicably started mutating into different types of animal hybrids, we follow the teenager Émile and his father François. It is a world where society is still searching for answers as to why some people transform and at the same time the authorities capture the creatures and try to control the development. One of those affected is Émile’s mother, and after she disappears from the institution she is being cared for, Émile and François set off to look for her.
The Animal Kingdom is a non-stop intense thriller that impresses greatly both visually and emotionally. Particularly admirable is Paul Kircher in the role of young Émile.
