We are in a small village on the Black Sea in Georgia. Here, people seem to live in harmony and peace. But under the surface, unspoken contradictions bubble. When Eliko, an odd man, is found hanged, a lot of speculation starts. And they are reinforced when Eliko’s daughter Moe arrives to solve her grandfather’s death and prepare the funeral.

Moe is a completely different person from the village’s inhabitants and she now has to sense lies and deception. Many scenes take place at the Wet Sand bar. The director, Elene Naveriani, offers, despite the drama, a low-key and thoughtful experience for the spectator. WET SAND has received a number of awards at several film festivals. An important film where gay rights are in focus in a deeply religious Georgia.
