Forest Creatures is a captivating and beautifully illustrated story about small animals and their big secrets. It explores themes such as the impact of climate change, migration, new encounters, and the animals’ fates. A family of shrews—mother, three children, and grandmother—are forced to flee their home by the creek after a devastating flood. In the chaos, they meet an elderly, dementia-stricken mouse with a treasure map that could lead them to the promised land, Stenkullen.
The films tie into Bildmuseet’s exhibition Eight Degrees / Contemporary Art about the Forest, a group exhibition that explores humanity’s complex relationship with the forest.
