A theater troupe travels into the desert to stage a modern re-enactment of the last days of Jesus through song. Judas grows worried that Jesus seems more focused on proclaiming himself the Son of God than addressing social injustices. He also questions Jesus’ relationship with Mary Magdalene. After Judas’ betrayal, Jesus is brought before Pontius Pilate, who ultimately decides his fate: crucifixion.
