The municipality of Hylte in Halland is known for having the world’s largest paper mill, supplying newspapers around the globe with paper. This film captures life in the shadow of the mill and the people who live and work around it. What stories are unfolding here? The king’s signature—engraved in stone—stands as a lasting memory for the town, but what other stories will we continue to remember in the future? Through several moving portraits, the film tells the story of the ordinary person in the vast world, with the constant presence of the machines in the paper mill, whose paper will soon be dressed in headlines in distant parts of the world.
