Muohtačalmmit is a surreal experimental short film that paints a dystopian future for how Sápmi is affected by the ongoing energy and mineral political pressure. The film is based on writer Pedar Jalvi’s poem “Muohtačalmmit” from 1915.
Hans Pieski lives with his family 300 miles above the Arctic Circle, in Northern Finland, by the Tana River. In his projects and pictures, he explores Arctic Nature during different seasons. He has experience with documentary filmmaking, film editing, and script writing.
