Once again, Quentin Dupieux (Deerskin, Mandibules) pushes the boundaries with his new playful creation, where nothing is as it seems. This film-within-a-film is a humorous mirror that illustrates the many pitfalls of cinematic storytelling, featuring a good dose of surrealism and metahumor, while also addressing the late-blooming “Me Too” discussion within French cinema. Some of France’s most well-known names take a self-ironic turn on screen, raising questions about the obligations actors have to their audience.
