The Conclave takes us into the Vatican’s inner circle at a fateful and historically decisive moment—the election of a new pope. After the sudden death of the current pope, cardinals from all corners of the world gather in the Sistine Chapel to participate in the profoundly ceremonial yet politically charged voting process.

With each new round of voting, old rivalries and secrets rise to the surface. It soon becomes clear that what initially appears to be a spiritual process is, in large part, governed by power plays and personal agendas. Those once considered untouchable can quickly fall, and new forces begin to emerge.
