It’s 1996, Stefan is 15 years old and living in Belgrade when Slobodan Milošević’s regime is rocked after falsifying an election result. Stefan’s mother is a spokesperson for the ruling party and his fellow students rush out into the streets at the same time to demonstrate in support of the opposition. Now he faces an inner rebellion of his own that forces him to distance himself from either his family or his friends. Lost Country is a coming-of-age narrative that carefully portrays human destinies in a time of both personal and political upheaval.
