War veteran Serhiy returns home to his family after three years in the war between Ukraine and Russia. Exhausted and traumatized from the front, he struggles to reconnect with himself and his loved ones. When his wife becomes pregnant with their fourth child, the emotional scars he carries become even more apparent. At night, he confides in director Lesia Diaks while wrestling with doubts about whether he is still capable of living a family life. A powerful film about the lasting consequences of war and the wounds that may never fully heal.

Lesia Diaks’ debut film Dad’s Lullaby had its world premiere last autumn and has since been screened and awarded at several festivals around the world.

The film is shown as part of the program accompanying the exhibition Loss, Love and the Everyday of War – Three Years of Life Amid War in Ukraine at the Sune Jonsson Centre for Documentary Photography at Västerbottens Museum.
