My Neighbor Totoro

Running time: 1 hr 26 min

When sisters Satsuki and Mei move to the countryside with their father, it is to be closer to their mother, who is receiving treatment at a nearby hospital. Their new home is old and full of whispers—and before long, the sisters realize they are not alone.

In the forests surrounding the house lies a world filled with secrets: soot sprites darting through the shadows, a many-legged Catbus speeding through the trees, and most importantly, the large, furry, kind-hearted creature Mei names Totoro.

Meeting Totoro opens the door to something greater: a friendship as boundless as imagination itself, a sense of comfort in the unknown, and the beginning of one of cinema’s most beloved family adventures.

As night falls, the place transforms into a bathhouse for spirits and supernatural beings. Her parents are turned into pigs, and Chihiro suddenly finds herself alone in a world where the rules are incomprehensible and danger lurks in the shadows.

Yet in this enchanted realm she meets Haku, a mysterious boy who becomes her ally. He warns her: if she forgets her name, she will forget who she is—and remain trapped in the spirit world forever.

To survive and find her way home, Chihiro must discover the courage to stand up for herself and hold on to the memory of who she once was.
