The film is one of Buster Keaton’s most beloved silent classics. Keaton, one of the greatest filmmakers of the silent era, also stars in the title role as Bill Jr.
When Steamboat Bill is reunited with his son Bill Jr after many years, he quickly discovers that his son does not live up to his seafaring ideals. Meanwhile, Bill Jr falls in love with Kitty, the daughter of his father’s rival, Captain King, and the conflict comes to a head.
