Outdoor Cinema in Döbelns Park
Friday night, August 28th, Umeå Film Festival invites you to cinema in the park. It’ll be a cozy film evening in Döbeln’s Park, starting at dusk. The event is a collaboration between us, the festival Spelrum, Film i Västerbotten, and VisitUmeå.
This year’s feature film is one of the most beloved romantic comedies we could think of: Notting Hill. The screening starts at 21:00, bring a blanket or chair to sit on, as well as warm clothing. There will be snacks available for purchase on site, but you’re more than welcome to bring your own. Free entry.
Notting Hill
Year: 1999 | Language: English | Subtitles: Swedish | Runtime: 124 min
William Thacker (Hugh Grant) lives an ordinary life in the middle of Portobello Road in London, together with his eccentric lodger Spike (Rhys Ifans). He runs a small travel bookshop near his home and spends the rest of his time socialising with friends while making recurring attempts at dating. One day, film star Anna Scott (Julia Roberts) walks into his bookshop, and when they later that same day run into each other again — and William spills orange juice on Anna’s shirt — something begins that turns out to be a little more complicated than either William or Anna could have imagined.
Bring warm clothes, a blanket or chair, and enjoy the late summer evening with us. Free entry!
