Storspoven 2018
Every year Umeå European Film Festival together with Film i Västerbotten hand out the scholarship Storspoven. It’s awarded to the best film in the festival section Northern perspectives. The competing films are nominated by the festival and the winner is then selected by a jury. This year the admission has been open for films from all north of Sweden. The award ceremony and this year’s winner is announced during the screening!

This year’s jury:
Sara Meidell
Sara Meidell is a journalist and cultural editor at Västerbottens-Kuriren. This winter she was awarded Publicistklubben’s stylistic award Guldpennan as the first journalist from the north of Sweden.
Isabella Eklöf
Isabella Eklöf is a Swedish director living in Copenhagen. Her feature debut Holiday competed for the Nordic Dragon Award at Göteborg Film Festival and the World Cinema Dramatic Competition at the Sundance Film Festival.
Ted Kjellsson
Ted Kjellsson is a director living in Skellefteå. This autumn he released his feature debut Alone in Space and he has also directed commercials and TV-series.
