Thank you for a fantastic film festival!

We are incredibly happy that we were able to carry out the eighth edition of the Umeå European Film Festival on site in Umeå. We have lived in uncertainty during the whole year but then suddenly we stood there on a Wednesday night at the opening ceremony with sparkling drinks, film and live music.

For five days, we offered 64 film experiences from 20 different countries. We are very proud that we were able to offer several calls after the film screenings despite the situation in society. In the snow we walked between Kulturhuset Väven, Västerbottens Museum, Bildmuseet and Ersboda Folkets Hus. We challenged the cinema format and showed films at a restaurant, an artmuseum and a coffeeshop, we offered live music along with a special film quiz. The festival really did lit up Umeå for a couple of days.

But we also want to highlight our volunteers. Without their commitment and invaluable hard work, the festival would never have been possible.
