Fanny is a shy and lonely teenager struggling through high school life in her hometown of Strasbourg. To brighten things up, she and her German pen pal Lena arrange their own language exchange. Once in Leipzig, Fanny quickly gets drawn into Lena’s world of political activism. Eager to impress her and seem more interesting, Fanny starts making up stories about her life — but soon, she’s completely tangled up in her own lies.
