About UEFF

Umeå Film Festival (UEFF) is a yearly film festival in Umeå, northern Sweden, 2025 we arrange the 12th edition of the festival. We aim to make a programme that includes a carefully chosen selection of contemporary cinema, our main focus is European films and films from the north but we also do a few break outs to other interesting places. The festival is also a week filled with a lot of events such as film quizzes, seminars with visiting filmmakers, an unforgettable Sing Along and lots more!

Umeå Film Festival makes its selection based on three themes; gender equality in the film industry, northern perspectives and film talk.

Umeå Film Festival is arranged by Folkets Bio Umeå with support from The Swedish Film Institute, Film i Västerbotten and Umeå kommun.
