Meet the people of Muodoslompolo in Tornedalen, Sweden. A small community undergoing major change, with deep connections to a dark chapter of Swedish history.
We follow everyday life in Tornedalen, the local residents, and the newcomers who are making this place a multinational community. Together, they play bingo and compete in kick sled racing. Through the village’s oldest resident, Rosa, we also learn about its history and a time when children lived in work homes and lost their language and culture.
This story leads us back to the burial of skulls stolen from this very village 150 years ago.
