Welcome to a special evening at Inomhustorget in Väven, where Gotthards Krog is transformed into a cinema. This year, Gotthards’ fantastic three-course dinner takes you to the French countryside as we screen the homecoming drama Partir un jour (Leave One Day, released in Sweden as Smaken av Paris). The film will be screened with english subtitles, french dialouge.
Successful chef Cécile is on the verge of opening her own restaurant in Paris when her father suddenly suffers a heart attack. She returns to her hometown and her old childhood bedroom to help her mother run the family’s roadside restaurant. Surrounded by old friends, home-cooked food and a former teenage love, Cécile begins to reconsider her life choices and reflect on what she really wants.
A tender, colourful and humorous portrayal of working-class life in rural France, punctuated by unexpected bursts of beloved pop classics. With this film, Amélie Bonnin made history in 2025 as the first debut feature director to open the Cannes Film Festival.
