What appears to be a massive comet has crashed in northern Sweden – and suddenly, a hairy monster emerges, spreading chaos and destruction. To investigate the incident, geologists Erik Engström and H. Vance Wilson travel to the site. Already there are Diane (Wilson’s niece and an Olympic skating star) and fellow geologist Henrik, and together they embark on a bizarre mountain adventure.
In this black-and-white fever dream of a film, we’re treated to impressive skiing and skating sequences, torch-bearing men – and an unexpected, entirely unnecessary nude scene. Meanwhile, aliens sit in their UFO, closely monitoring the unfolding events.
Terror in the Midnight Sun has achieved cult status over the years and stands as a true “so-bad-it’s-good” classic – a Swedish-American science fiction set among snow-covered mountains that leaves the audience with more than a few questions.
